Open Markets, Public Knowledge, and Others Send Letter to House Judiciary and Energy and Commerce Cmtts Against Proposed Merger of Sprint, T-Mobile

Open Markets Institute, Public Knowledge and twelve other signatories have sent a comment letter to the House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jerry Nadler and Committee on Energy and Commerce Ranking Member Frank Pallone, both likely incoming chairs, urging the House of Representatives to hold a hearing on the likely effects of the proposed Sprint, T-Mobile merger. The letter agrees with the public criticisms both ranking members and Rep. David Cicilline have made on the record regarding the potential merger. It states that "Announcing hearings to examine the single largest pending wireless telecommunications merger, and one of the largest in the nation’s history, would be an excellent first step to implementing your vision for stronger antitrust enforcement, protecting consumers, promoting competition, and standing up for American workers."
