Ashley Woolheater manages communications for the Open Markets Institute. In this role she oversees media relations and the promotion of Open Markets’ research and advocacy work.

Ashley has over a decade of experience communicating strategically about Democratic policy goals and outcomes. She previously served as communications director and press secretary to Senator Elizabeth Warren, as chief of staff to the Hillary for America policy team, and as a press assistant in the State Department Office of Public Affairs during the Obama administration.

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Ashley has a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from Emory University and a master’s degree in Global Communication from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University.
