Building Worker Power as Anti Monopoly: The Next Phase of the Modern Antitrust Agenda
On Friday May 10th, 2024 the NYU Wagner Labor Initiative hosted an event entitled Building Worker Power as Anti Monopoly: The Next Phase of the Modern Antitrust Agenda. FTC Commissioner Alvaro Bedoya and New York Senator Mike Gianaris were the keynote speakers. In addition to the keynotes, the event featured two panels on antitrust and worker power: the first on unfair competition and the second on merger policy.
Open Markets’ legal director Sandeep Vaheesan and chief economist Brian Callaci spoke at the event to discuss a new agenda of antitrust reform and represent the challenges faced by workers through their fight within the labor movement.
