NPR - A Formula Shortage Shows How Policy, Societal Pressure Impact Babies & Parents

Program manager Claire Kelloway spoke on multiple platforms focusing on the crisis of baby formula shortages across the U.S.

“Because the WIC program is such a large purchaser, it buys about half of the formula on the market,” Kelloway said. “Once a company has an exclusive deal to service a state, competitors don't have a financial incentive to compete in that state.”
