Arnav Rao is a Transportation Policy Analyst at the Open Markets Institute. In this role, he researches the business practices and public policies that structure today’s maritime trade and transportation policies. 

Before joining Open Markets, Rao worked in the U.S. Senate for Senator Jack Reed and Senator Jon Ossoff and in the U.S. House of Representatives for former Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux. He has also worked for the government affairs divisions of various companies in the transportation industry, including Tesla, Union Pacific Railroad, and Zoox. 

Raised near Atlanta, Georgia, Rao earned a B.S. in Public Policy with a minor in Law, Science, and Technology from Georgia Tech.
