Open Markets Submits a Comment Letter in Response to Questions on Supply Chain Resilience

 

The Open Markets Institute and the Justice Department’s antitrust division are urging U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai to use the agency’s recently initiated supply chain review to promote more competition.

The comment letter includes recommendations from OMI focus on the perspective that the United States has a long history of using “tariffs and other forms of restrictions both to protect strategic domestic manufacturing capacities, and to target dangerous offshore chokepoints.”
